While this watch may have all the same features and toughness as the classic Casio Men's G-Shock Classic Digital Watch #DW6900-1V; it is more of a fashion piece than rugged, go anywhere watch.I didn't know when I ordered it, but instead of just matte black, the bezel and strap are shiny.The green display is a bit difficult to read at certain angles, this may annoy some people who wear this as an everyday watch.

I was worried about the watch face being too large for my 11 year olds arm. It looks fine, not too big as I feared. Glad I got this instead of the other "baby g" watches that were advertised for children as they are actually a woman's watch. Try being an 11 year old being teased about that by any one of the kids on the play ground who knows better. Those retailers who are doing that are going to art some kid up for disappointment and parents to waste a good deal of money.The watch we got was nice, but really was difficult to read the face in certain lighting conditions. My son lived it either way.

This is an interesting version of the 6900 series, and one that is pretty popular amongst G-Shock collectors/enthusiasts. it has basic functionality, but no world time or tide indicators here. The display has a mirror style and it is more of a yellow green than a neon green - it works well to contrast with the glossy black resign band and body. Overall, a nice watch and one that wears well - just know the color is not portrayed that accurately here on Amazon.
