I purchased this drill from HD after returning the Dewalt 130 because it was so loud (annoying high pitched gear whine). I've been mixing mortar for a tile job and my regular corded makita ran too fast to control (2800 rpm)even though it was variable speed. And it was laboring...getting nice and hot. So I recognized that it was time to buy a good heavy duty drill that could run at low speed and with enough torque to pull the mixer. This drill is powerful and much quieter than the Dewalt that I took back and it runs at 600 rpm perfect for mixing. But with no variable speed it really only can do mixing. I wanted a drill that I could also use with self feeding auger bits. 600 rpm is too fast to control there. This one is going back for that reason.

I use it for lots of mixing jobs ,thin set , concrete, paint, grout . Very light weight and lots of torque. the rotation handle makes it easy to hold.

This thing is a beast. I bought it to mix stucco and small amounts concrete (approximately one bag mixed in a drywall bucket). Works great, no issues. I have also used it for drilling steel, with good results. I bought a house previously owned by a drug dealer and found a floor safe built into the concrete foundation in the garage that was hidden under linoleum I removed. I used the DS4011 to drill the safe. Since you can't adjust the speed, you have to change the size of the bit to match the rpms for the type steel that you are cutting. The drill has a lot of torque. If you break through, or go to a dissimilar material, the drill will twist, hard. Be ready for it. Another thing if drilling steel with this thing is to use plenty of cutting fluid and use weights to apply the cutting force (if going downwards) so you can brace for the drill torquing. I used boa steel shot weights from Matthews wrapped around the D spade handle at the top. Use cobalt bits. I used this drill continuously, for hours, drilling through the safe and it has worked fine since then on more mundane tasks. The drill I got was labeled 'assembled in USA' which is always a plus.
